Jogging for Your Joints
Exercise might be the last thing on your mind if you suffer from arthritis. But it could be the best thing for you. According to the Arthritis Foundation, exercise has been shown to reduce pain and stiffness, increase flexibility and endurance, and build strong muscles around your joints.
Every exercise routine should include three components: flexibility (gentle stretching), cardiovascular (walking, jogging, cycling) and strength training (strengthening the muscles by moving the joint). Talk with your physician before beginning any exercise routine to make sure the program is right for you.
